The western section is relatively newer than the eastern section and has a distinctly different layout and street pattern. Sitting close to the transportation/utility corridor, the western third of the Ormsby Place neighbourhood has curvilinear streets coming off from Ormsby Road. Here, houses have developed around the park that lies at the heart. By contrast, in eastern Ormsby Place, you’ll notice homes are built on cul-de-sac roads and inter-connected with smaller roads.
The Ormsby Elementary School that is run by the Edmonton Public School System caters to families with elementary school-age children. Adjoining neighbourhoods offer junior and high school education. Universities and colleges in the city’s downtown are accessible by bus and are just a 10 to 12-minute drive away along Whitemud Drive.
