One of the most significant landmarks in this community is Beverly Cenotaph. The cenotaph was built to honour the locals who had lost their lives in World War I. An interesting fact is that this cenotaph was the first one to be erected in the city and also one of the very first in Alberta. Another well-known landmark is the Ukrainian Catholic Church and Living Hope Christian Centre, which is located on 116th avenue.

Living in a Townhouse in Beverly Heights

This is a mature neighbourhood and you will find that a good percentage of the single-unit homes here were built in the 1950s, although some date back to earlier times too. After the amalgamation with the City of Edmonton, the construction activity here took on a slight turn, and more low rise apartments were built in this phase. Most of these are clustered near the traffic routes and commercial areas. This activity continued until the early 1980s. Beyond this phase began the construction of infill housing that continues to this day.
